Warmoth EVH Clone - Duncan Distortion
Warmoth Sunburst - Suhr Aldrich
Hard to tell from the video but i think the Duncan has a nice sizzle/growl to it. But seems to be all Lows & Highs
where as the Suhr is thicker and more balanced all around. Better EQ if you will. The duncan gets a little muted
when i go for solos. or it feels that way at least. I love them both for different reasons.
What do you guys think?

I hear more of a bite with the Duncan.. More highs.
I hear a rounder sound out of the Aldrich.
Both are nice though! How are you digging the stealth?
Sounds great !!!

That's how I hear it for the most part. Love the stealth! Best amp I've owned I think

They both sound great, Duncan a little brighter and suhr maybe a little thicker but I feel like you could maybe EQ the amp to get them to sound very similar, nice playing too man!

Thanks! Yeah, in person you can hear and feel the difference more than the video

Hard to get a proper comparison unless all things are the same. Both sounded nice but I prefer the Aldrich and if all things were equal I would really choose the Aldrich. It is one of my all time favorite pickups for sure.

Had a DD in a Jackson Soloist. Have an Aldrich in a Charvel SD. Aldrich wins for me. Both Alder Guitars, Soloist being neck through. Aldrich seems more defined.

Both sound great.

I love the Aldrich in my Stratocaster. Very bright, clean, ballsy and punchy.

Both sound good, but unless the same guitar is being used, the "side-by-side" comparison has little value...there are simply too many other variables affecting the resulting tone.

I like both as well. I have a distortion in a Kramer Nightswan, and I have the Aldrich in my Modern as well as my ESP Eclipse.

I feel the same as you... I like them both for different reasons, but I'd take the Aldrich over the DD if I had to choose one. Aldrich is definitely fuller and more defined. Better response too!

Great tones from both. I prefer the Aldrich in this clip. Sounds slighter more PAF-ish and less modern.

I just ordered a distortion for my strat. I also ordered a jazz for the neck. Looking forward to getting rid of the stock singles in that guitar

The harmonic at :53 was from the heavens. :D They both sounded good.

Nice! Love the UFO at the beginning. :)

Those two pickups were probably my favorite pickups that I've had over the years. I had the Aldrich in a Les Paul and the Distortion in a Gibson SG, among other guitars. I currently have a JB in my G&L, DeMartini in my Charvel DeMartini (like a JB), and EVH Frankenstein in my custom Van Halen guitar. The Duncan Distortion was always a great pickup, especially for palm mutes, etc. I think the Aldrich is very similar but has a bit more growl (think George Lynch) and I think it cleans up better with the volume control. My Aldrich was always easier to control as far as pick attack, sustain, etc. I can see why Doug Aldrich likes this tone and helped design this.

I wish I had the money for a stealth. Sounds killer!!! :)

I have an Aldrich but I liked the Duncan more in this clip! Very tight!

Agreed with others in that video the aldrich has more string clarity but the EVH has so much gain and compression it's tough to know if it's the pick up or the amp not providing any articulation
This is some of the best tone I've had of the dozens of high end amps and guitars I've owned and it is a Jackson PC-1 equipped with a DD pup thru a Slo 100. Tons of string clarity!
