Duncan Full Shred SH-2n in the neck, DiMarzio FRED in the bridge. Volume mismatch?

I want to use a Duncan Full Shred SH-2n in the neck, DiMarzio FRED DP153 in the bridge of my Ibanez AS73 (ES-335 style guitar).

Do you think they'll balance volume wise?

Selling my Epi Les Paul Trad Pro IV, so the Ibanez will be my only Gibson style guitar and I don't want to use PAF type pickups in this guitar.

If the Full Shred SH-10n is too hot for the FRED DP153, I'll use a Jazz neck SH-2n, but I really like the throaty tone of the Full Shred SH-10n.

I'm pretty knowledgeable about pickups, but I've never tried this combination. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this.

Never used a Full Shred myself

The FRED has probably the most insane harmonics of any pickup I've ever used and has quite a bit of cut and clarity

Wouldn't be my choice for a 335 type guitar if you are after anything remotely like a traditional 335 type of sound.....but I do really like it. Could be awesome?

I love the sounds of both of those pickups. FRED harmonics are NUTS! LOL Yeah, I don't want guitar to sound traditional. I want to be able to go from mellow to screaming with this guitar and I think that this combination of pickups can do that. Now that I think of it, I've played a guitar with the FRED in both bridge and neck and that combo sounded great, too. Hmm.

I love Alex Lifeson's solo tone on "Working Man" from the first album. Those pickups are T-Tops. I want the "attitude" of that sound but on steroids.

Lemme know how it works out. I've looked at the Fred but never tried one. One of these days I want another decent neck pickup to try in my LP. Maybe the Fred is the ticket cause even my dog is named Freddie.

Bro, the FRED is a killer pickup in the neck...it would kick butt for blues!

The Full Shred Neck shouldn't be hotter than the Jazz Neck. They're allegedly the same coils and same magnet, only difference is the polepieces.

So if the Jazz balances, so should the FS-N.
