I'm looking for clarity and note separation. Basically I'm looking for a reason to put my JB back in my Ibanez, but i just can't think of one, the Distortion rips pretty good,, but it does have quite a bit of high end sizzle to it that i think is interfering with the clarity of my tone?? But that might just be in my head??

I am a JB guy in most situations. Have never had one in an Ibby though. Charvel's and LP's for me.

I don't think either has more clarity than the other. The Distortion is dirtier all around, but I actually feel the high-end sizzle is what helps it retain clarity. The JB does have mushier low-mids, though.

If you want a JB with more note separation, try the Fishman Fluence Classic in Voice 2. That's pretty much what it is.

For me, it's the other way around. I personally feel the JB is a bit too round and fat for a Les Paul (most of the time). At least when downtuning and playing fast-ish paced metal.

Oh, just so you know it's an Ibanez LP copy,. Cheap guitar, but it sounds and plays really good. Looks like more people recommend the Distortion. I really do want to try some of those Tone Nerd pickups one day, especially the Roxy.

Get the Duncan mustaine thrash factor
The JB and the Distortion are good enough for me now. Next one I want to try though is the Duncan Custom.

Isn't the thrash factor just a JB with a tighter low end?? I heard it's based on Mustaine's JB that he has in his silver jackson V, that was his main guitar for a long time.

He's used the JB in the past as well, I'm pretty sure.
