Very cool, been messing with my Psonic 3:14 that I got from Degenaro and like how nasty it gets. Like it much better with single coils.

i like the sound you got, and very ej like in spots, but i've never really thought ej had a great fuzz sound. and it only seems to have gone really harsh on the more recent recordings.

dave at LASD has a fuzz he swears is the best repro ever, but the one that really turned my head based on clips, and honestly i'm not a fuzz fan, was the quinn fuzz. i'd love to mess with that one.

Thanks! It could have been better, I had the audio level on the cam a bit too high. That said I kinda like the EJ. They purposely biased the transistors on the low side to get the sputtering effect EJ likes.

That was the '97 Hendrix Strat, amp had everything at noon, both volumes and tones. Reverb was from the YJM.

I'll do the same thing with the Fulltone fuzzes soon, maybe the Roger Mayer spaceships too

Pat, I agree. Dunlop made him the fuzz he wanted and biased the transistors low to get that farting studdering effect he likes. I kinda dig it cause I got other fuzzes that are more normal.

Even on his alternate lead sound, the BK Butler Tube Driver, he has the Bias control to get that same broken sputting sound.

yeah man a Fuzz Face clone comparo would be real cool... were the fuzz controls both at noon as well? It sounded like it cleaned up real nice with the volume knob as well..

That was cool!! I think that my ears gravitate more towards the Jimi and the EJ. The Jimi was definitely brighter but was still great. I liked the JB but it just didnt appeal to me like the 2 Silicon fuzzes...

Got another EJ vid coming w/ the Yngwie Strat. Difficult to play and sounds like ass in the room but suprisingly records well.

I think that it may be important to note that JB's Fuzz was designed primarily for humbuckers whereas Jimi's and EJ's are for single coils.

The Jimi strat sounded alot smoother where as this sounded kinda ratty. I guess it was a pickup thing? Which YJM strat BTW? Dimarzio or Duncan?

It still sounded good but I definitely preferred the first one by quite a bit..

Thats crazy, I wouldnt expect pickups with that kind of output to sound like that. I wonder what the DiMarzios would sound like?

Might have had more Presence dialed in on clip #2 as well. Can't put much stock in clips, things can vary with a turn of a knob
