Hi all, I have no idea about this. I'm contemplating having a piece of electronics built (303 clones) and shipped from Germany
The seller is reputable, people know him and use him. He mentioned he could declare the value low to save me $$$$ but not sure that is advisable.
The item will ship with DHL

So I've heard I have to pay duty, as well as sales tax? Is that correct? Any idea what I'd be looking at on top of $2500?

Thanks

About $120 in duty(give or take dependent on HS code) + carrier/import fees ($30-80) + possible local sales tax. It would need to be under $800 to be free of import duties.

It's okay, I live in the Socialist Republic of WA where things like lbgtxyz+ art programs costing millions of dollars are more important than potholes, homelessness, or anything considered even slightly normal to budget for.

What a pain in the ass.

From the other thread:

Dammit, I did it again, sorry mods.
No worries brudda.

Moved from OTC to the main sub-forum.

You probably intended to pop it into the "General" sub-forum of OTC but IMHO there'll be much-more exposure where I've moved it to.

EDIT:
I see you've created another thread exactly where I thought you might've intended with this one.
I'll move that one now and delete this one seeing as there're no replies yet anyway.
