I'm selling my AC30 when the E2 becomes available. I'm currently using a T/D and VX module. I'm trading the T/D for a T/T.

So anyways I got to thinking what modules could I make the most use of. The T/T is perfect for the country gigs. The VX is awesome for just about every gig. I need a bluesy roots rock tone so I was thinking the BMAN could cover that in spades. That leaves one more slot. The SL that I used to own sounded great but I thought it would be nice to have a more aggressive tone if needed plus the BMAN might cover some of the same ground. I'm on the fence between the SL, EG5, SL2, SL2X, BE and HBE. I'm kinda digging these tones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWDPiRABvRs

I already have 6 modules sooooooooo.........

Anyway, I'd say if you are diggin' those tones, go with the SL2X or the EG5. Seems like several guys had the Dave mods, then seemed to migrate back to the Eggie stuff. I never tried one, but that's just the way it appeared to me by reading the boards.

The EG5 can be bright, but I have put JJ pre in V1 and that really does the trick for me. It's the only time I've ever liked a JJ in a pre amp position!!

I also agree about the Bassman and SL. They are definitely different and bring different things to the table, but gain wise they are probably fairly similar and can cover a lot of the same ground.

The more important question is WHEN will the E2 even be available? I called and actually spoke to Bruce when I first heard about it...22 months ago (April 2008) to see if I would be able to use with the Rebel 20. He seemed to think that would be a pretty cool combo for a compact rig and I was pumped to get one. October 2008, Rebel 20 comes out and I picked one up and love it but I need extra pedals to get into the gain territory I like. Been dying to go modular ever since but no E2 on the horizon.

Now with the possibility of the E2 and modular line to go to offshore production... how would that affect availability? I'm seriously considering the Randall RM22 head and trying out the Randall modules. I know people say the Egnater modules have more mojo than the Randall, but I wouldn't know the difference seeing I can't get a platform for the Eggie stuff anyways. Also, how will mass production affect the mojo?

Just frustrated about this whole E2 thing...time to play thru my Rebel a bit and chill :)

From what bruce said is it should be out in the next 2-3 months. They've worked through the issues, and will be ramping up production in that timeframe. The offshore production stuff is just a rumor...and something that would take a fair amount of time to move on. I know they are going to build E2s in the US...and Bruce said at NAMM they were targeting shipping the first 25 in the next 2-3 months.

Eric, that is excellent news. Can't wait to be a module "noob" bugging you senior members with "what module will get me this tone?" or "should I get an SL2X or an EG5?"  Just kidding. Already set on a COD and an EG5 unless the "mystery" Mark Module is available. Hell, this is my only serious hobby so I may just collect 'em all!

slot one between a VX or T/T
2 .either the Sl2X or EG3/4X

LIAR! :D

I am going to pick up an empty one to start. I have 6 Randall modules now and would like to stick one of these on top of my RM100. Then I will start buying/trading the Egnater dual modules.

Bman for clean and dirty Fender, SL for semi-clean and dirty Marshall, plus some kind of OD pedal
for anything more.
Any recommendations for a good pedal to drive them into more modern OD tones?

I will get one "clean" module but haven't decided which yet. I have the SL and COD, that give's me quite clean tones, but I think I need a good sparkling clean Fenderish tone. Then I hope the Mystery (mesa-sounding) module might be happening soon - that's a must have module for me...
