What can you compare them to soundwise?

I am not really sure to be honest. I will say that when I first got them, they were bright, slightly harsh on the top, and didn't have as much depth. But they broke in really quick, and I am most happy with them now. I have not had a whole lot of other speaker experience, but have played through V30's, Gt12-75's, and GH30's significantly, apart from stock speakers like mesa black shadow and fenders.

I would say they are probally most like Gt12-75's or GH30's, but more even tonally and tighter on the bottom. I always had a problem with flub with the 75's and a hollow midrange with a bass heavy amp. I can get an even tone out of them, and they are pretty versatile. Maybe not as sweet as others, but I am liking them over my celestion priors. I can record a clip if you would like???? just name what kind of sound , heavy, lighter drive....???

IMHO....MUCH beter than any Celestions I have ever played. I have all three EC speakers.

I didn't like the Sugars at all. I felt they were very hollow, and didn't have much mid-range at all. Clean stuff sounded great, and mid-gain was good. But for me, the high-gain tones through them sucked. The green Machines were much better, when they were at high volumes. At low volumes, they were fizzy at least to me. Compared to a Celestion K-100 I didn't think either speaker stood next to them. The K-100 had a warmer mid-range, and a better, tighter low end. The highs were just perfect on the K-100s.

So for me, I didn't like the Ear Candy speakers at all, minus the Green Machine. The GM was good, just not as good for me as the K100.
