Recently did an Aristides 060 vs Suhr modern poll and most people told me to go with the Suhr. Was wondering if anyone can give me opinions on these two since I couldn't find much. Looking for something versitile that can play prog, rock, and jazz. Let me know what you guys think!

For versatility and overall quality, I think a Suhr Modern takes the cake. EBMM makes a great guitar, but I tend to grab my Petrucci models when I want a very precise/dry sound. The Suhr Moderns I've played tend to have a little more depth and 'organicness' to the sound, adding to the versatility which still retaining the overall 'modern super strat' feel.

Easily the Suhr Modern. The Majesty has been plagued with quality control problems. Just do a search and you will see several issues.

I have 2 Majestys. No such problems have arisen. Just as anything, the people with problems are the loudest. I bought my first one in April 2014 (serial number 114). People have problems with every brand - even Suhr. However, the price point and lack of large scale dealer support make the Suhr more obscure.

Suhr makes some of the nicest guitars you can buy. I own a modern pro that is crazy nice but not my best guitar by a long shot. The piezo on the Majesty makes it way more flexible than the Suhr and you can mix the piezo and magnetic pickups for tones you can't get on a Suhr modern. That said, the Illuminators are not the most flexible pickups.

I currently own 34 guitars. Each one is a different brush, each set of pickups and amp are the paint and canvas. Even my cheaper ones have their place.

Both are fantastic Guitars but, to me, suhr puts out some of the best strat style guitars today.

Music Man is in a slouch though either. I played the majesty in the store and it felt great but the body set kind of weird on my body unless I stood up with a strap. Maybe I didn't spend enough time with it but that was a big turnoff for me. I have owned 5 suhr moderns. All of them were impeccably made and sounded fantastic. They played like butter as well.

 Thank you for all the replies! You guys have given me a lot to think about

Had a bunch of EBMM Petruccis back in the day. Put them all on Ebay the day I played a Suhr for the first time. The EBMMs are great. But I have yet to find anything better, FOR ME, than a Suhr Modern. I have 2 since 2008 and they're my main guitars. My nephew has a Majesty and while it's a super nice guitar, it's not as comfortable to play, IMO, as my Moderns.

In this case they are the loudest because there are so many with problems.

I love Suhr, but Musicman is also perfection. I voted Musicman this time. The only minus is a lack of stainless steel frets.

You might want to also look at a PRS Custom 24 as it's a very versatile guitar.

Agreed. I'd choose a good prs over any suhr or musicman I've tried, but there are quite a few brands I'd take over the 2 mentioned for my taste
