Ecstacy 101B preamp valve recommendations

Hey guys. Just wondering what recommendations other ecstacy owners have for preamp valves. I am going to experiment over the next week with different combinations. I am running EL34s (winged C) in mine. So just wondering what you guys have settled on for your ecstacys

High Grade Chinese 12AX7

They're what came stock in 'em, after they did the Sovtek bit. Chinese/Shugs are cheap, reliable, consistent and have a decent amount of gain and noise floor.

Go this route before mucking about. Maybe an LPS matched/balanced or Ei Yugo in the PI slot, should be ace otherwise.

if you like thick crunchy gain, NOS RFTs are a great choice for v1. i run those, with Chinese in the other slots.

Sovtek LPS in V1 & V5-V6, Electroharmonix in V2-V4.

If You want to try some NOS go for Telefunken smooth plate in V1 & V5, Tungsram of Philips in V2-V3. RFT's are also cool, there was a time when I used Tungsram in V2 and RFT in V3. Nice crunchy sound, but not so aggressive.
