Anyone have problems with the channel 2 and 3 boost not functioning? I was playing mine last night and the boost from the footswitch stopped engaging the boosts. I had this problem a couple years ago and all I did was unplug it (footswitch) and plug it back in and it worked until last night. It was working when I first started and stopped after about 20 minutes...frustrating as I know others who have had Ecstasy footswitch issues. I've had it since 04 and only had the one problem with mine that cleared up, now I get no boost on ch 2 and 3.

Any ideas on what to do to correct this? I didn't take it a part last night, just went to the VHT 50 CL and kept playing. I'll open her up when I get home form work later today.

Never had that issue. I think if your boost is already on the front panel though, it defeats it... might work the front panel switch on the amp several times back and forth to clean it and then try the footswitch.

I haven't tried taking it in and out from the front panel. I didn't touch any switches when the problem arose. It was working one minute and not the next. I'll try it when I get home from work today. I did take a look under the hood on the footswitch last night and didn't see anything obvious out of place there or at the connector on the other end of the cable.

Check the diode in your footswitch. Might be similar issue as with the fx loop :).

Regards, Andy :)

Thanks Andy, how do you verify if the diode works or not? Would be a a piss poor design if a LED burnt out stops from the switch from functioning ;)

Well, when an fx diode in my fotswitch had broke, it was constantly switching on/off, connecting/disconnecting the loop.

I had a lot of issues with my 2004, 2005, and 2009 XTC's. I now have a '95 white chassis XTC that operates flawlessly; with the exception of some capacitance popping via the switches. Just activate your foot switches a few times before you turn the amp on... This will help discharge capacitance in the circuit.

Bogner thinks its may be an issue with the cable or connection. I'm not sure about that as it hasn't moved and I certainly didn't move it while I was in the middle of playing it for about 20 minutes before it stopped working. I think it may actually be the physical button itself as I frequently use it while on ch 2 and 3.

Hi everyone,

I just registered here on RT, came here looking for the same answer. I have a 100b and had the same issue last night at the gig. I know a little about electronics, I mean I can wire a guitar :) but the amps are enigma to me. In the end I was brave enough to check it out myself. I noticed that the boost LED was loose. The nut of boost switch was also loose. Opened up the footswitch and found that the LED diode leg soldered to a switch broke since the switch itself was loose... Obviously it broke while stepping it down. Soldered it again and VOILA!

Cheers from Belgrade, Serbia
