Edward Van Halen club days zebra pickup

Here’s a one of many club day photos of Edward Van Halen with his black strat and if you look at the zebra pickup it’s a neck pickup in the bridge the black bobbin is on the bottom and the cream bobbin is on the top which makes that humbucker a neck pickup.

This picture reminds me of that old movie; The Warriors “come out to play”.
Makes me wonder. I believe that movie was made in ‘79ish. Ehhh. Just reminiscing.

Coolness in order of that picture:
1. Michael Anthony
2. Alex Van Halen
3. David Lee Roth
4. Guitar guy in the yellow shirt is holding
5. Stack of old cabs

Things that look staged:
PBR cans just laying perfectly on their sides with a couple broken drumsticks.

STAGED! :ROFLMAO:

EDIT: Actually it's those 70's soundproofing panels. They set the stage.

Yes…
++
You know this was an allstar cast. Such a cool/odd movie. My wife hates when certain movies come on at night on the weekend because that IS what we are watching. This movie is one of them… I always think of Van Halen when the bathroom scene pops up. No glory holes though

Of course it is. It's a soundstage. Look at the shadows, the amp on the bottom right added to create an illusion of depth, and where is the cameraman standing?
Yep. And if you look real closely at that prop amp used in this effect, you can see a small hole in the bottom left of the rear of the chassis. That was to create an illusion of mystique and molestation.

This shows the Frankie in 1977

Sometime in the summer of 77 he stripped it.
I wish I was 10 years older So I could have seen VH in 1978 with Sabbath, my uncle went to see that tour he was huge Sabbath fan.

I saw them in 1980 for the first time. EVH was god playing his Charvel Star and the Frankie that show. I was lucky to Van Halen in his prime, the band was epic. I was 14 Sept 12th 1980

I took my son to the 07-08 tour he was 15 his first concert Feb 1st 2008
