Is it possible or dangerous in anyway the run the recording out from another amp into the effects loop return in my rebel 30 to use it like a tube power amp?

Not as far as I know. I've used preamps like this before, just run the out of the preamp into the "return" of the loop. You have to control the volume from the outboard preamp though.

I have a Roland Cube sitting here and I'm really curious as to what the high gain models would should like through the rebels power amp. I don't see why it would be a problem but I'm no amp guru. Anyone else have any input?

hbucker is correct, shouldn't be a problem and it's quite common to do so.

You won't hurt the "slave" amp so long as you don't plug the speaker output from another amp into the return. What amp are you considering trying this with?

Was gonna try it with my Roland Cube 40xl. Just wanted to tone tinker with some high gain amp models.

I run one of the outs of the M4 into the return of my VHT Pittbull 50cl for W/D/W. No issues, and sounds spectacular.

So when I hooked it up and took the rebel off standby and got a bunch of white noise through the speaker. Made me nervous and I shut it off

If there was no other signal there, you had it hooked up wrong.
The voicing of the Rebel can be different than what that preamp is used to. You may need to do some eq adjusting. If it's hooked up right, you shouldn't have a problem. That doesn't mean those two units will work well together though.

Are we all forgetting distortion from the speaker simulated circuit ?
PA speakers are not guitar speakers so add the speaker breakup like a guitar speaker is the reason i presume for the simulation.
No i think i wont give you what you expect,.
The impedence question can only be answered by trying it !
I thought you should be prepared for less than a clean sound,distortion may seem muddy and lifeless or nasal shrill sounding if the impedence is way off.
Im curious and hope it works well but i see much im cautious about so temper optimizium.
I say try it with amp DI out sending at a low volume at first because that amp is the master volume of both amps now
and the recieving amp starts a full volume.
The Rebel DI output varies with the master volume control so does the cube do the same ?
