Got a 4212 and I need your expert advice on effects.

The effects are Boss Chorus Ensemble, Boss Giga Delay, and Boss RC-50 Loop Station. It is the Loop station that I am not sure what to do with.

I have my effects in the following order: Send into chorus, chorus into delay, delay into return. That sounds great on all 4 channels.

Should the loop be part of that chain? If so, where? Or should I plug my guitar into the loop and then the loop into the amp?

Guitar Player did an issue on effects chains a while back that has been helpful, but it doesn't talk about loops as they are a different kind of effect. They record the sound but they don't process it. My feeling is to keep it separate from the other two. Still, I would like your sage advice!

I LOVE this amp, by the way! I've only had it a few weeks. Even audiences notice the difference, and usually they don't really pay that close of attention. They think an egnater is something that egnates you- And maybe it does!

I await your sage wisdom and advice.

tough one.. i'd run it after the gigadelay, because you don't want to delay recorded sounds

I am leaning towards just leaving it out of the chain altogether. If I do it the way you suggest, the loops would be effected, and I am not sure I want that.

It is a tough one. Let's see what others say.

Let me add one other thing: I have the Furman SPB-8C pedal board. It has an input/output section that allows a few different combinations of things. That may be the key.

Exactly, plus, I would want the ability to loop my delayed sounds.

Looper = Last in the loop.

Everyone seems to think that it all should be one chain with looper last. Not sure I agree- Not sure I would always want the effects recorded. Still, I'll give it a shot and report back.

Any other ideas out there?

I think the loop should go last also in the loop. I'd want to record the whole sound "as is" right before going to the power amp. I do that with the JamMan in my Lexicon MPXG2, and there are some cool things you can do w/ the looper in the loop with delays on!

Well, I have tried it with the delay and chorus in the FX loop and the guitar going into the looper and looper into amp. Works pretty well EXCEPT-

It doesn't allow me to record a clean loop and then switch to distortion channel for soloing. I think the set up you guys are suggesting would allow that, so I guess I will have to give that a go. I guess it is just the recording artist in me- I almost always record without effects and add them later. Still, this is a live rig, so I guess that changes the equation.

QUESTION: One issue with this is, believe it or not, space on the Furman, because I have a bunch of guitar cords that have straight ends which take up space. Rather then go out and buy a bunch of expensive new cables, does Guitar Center, or Radio Shack, or anybody, sell any kind of right angle adapter?

Thanks!

guitar center has right angle plugs that your straight end goes into. I bought most of mine on ebay and they are all metal/guitar centers were black i think. you might get a better deal on evilbay, i think i paid 2-3 $ and bought a bunch to save on shipping. I haven't notice any noise from them.

Thanks- Radio Shack also has them. I saw them on their website. This caused me to run out to my nearest RS in the middle of a snowstorm. (I am in Massachusetts.) The fact that I went out in the middle of a snowstorm means that they didn't have them in stock, even though their computer said they did. I ordered them off of their website.

  :( :aww: :scared:  :gethim:

yeah i ran up the street to RS for them a while ago and they didnt have them here either.lol

Thats because when you find them you buy all of them? I did.
Make sure you get the Z shape ones for different brand pedals.
