EG5 Bassboost should be on "2"

Adjust the bass knob accordingly.

I wish I would have found this out long before I did.

I was under the impression,

"'bassboost' is for numetal poseurs, and it should be avoided at all costs. It will make everything muddy like the bass knob on Mesa Marks. Quads, Studios, etc."

I was wrong.

Sticky this please.

The Tight/Bright switch on the EG5 has a really big effect on the tone...I'd previously avoided messing with the 'Tight' on the Eggies after my Randall experience where I had to reduce almost all the caps in every module.....was a mistake in the EG5, it's pretty impressive.

That's how I had it set when I had one. I remember experimenting with the treble boost on 1 sometimes too.

Yep, its a must.

It was a must....right before I sold it. :D

Sorry Matt, just messing with ya! It just didn't work for me, glad you guys found YOUR module.

Again, got a chance to mess around with the EG5 for quite a while lastnight. Very impressed how it can hold up all that clarity with that amount of gain.

That being said, I couldn't really dig it with anything less than bass boost on 2 (or, at the very least, on 1, with the bass knob cranked). It really added in some fullness to that module.

I'm guessing that having the bass boost on "0" might work for recording, where you need your solo to be uber-articulate under lots of gain...

I must have a bass-heavy guitar/pickup combo because I get enough thump without
the Bass Boost engaged. That said, I have tried the settings suggested and I can
see where it thickens up on par with other modules, with the Boost on 2. Especially when
playing loud.

Haven't played out with it yet to a/b the two settings, but still think it sounds great untouched w/ the other modules.
