Wow. Just....wow. Still need to play with it some more, but this seems less noisy than the SL2X. I can definitely hear the treble that everyone is talking about, but man, it is so much clearer/articulate instead of just being 'bright' (as stated before, no need for the bright toggle to be on). I might have to dial it back occasionally, or add that (1000pF?) cap to the tube board as has been mentioned here before to shave those highs off a little.
The bass is really tight, but not abundant. I found myself with the bass switch on 1 for starters.
And the mids. I did dial them back to around noon, if not 10-11 o'clock. If I can work an eq pedal (sacrilege, I know) into my board to scoop the mids a bit more, I will more than likely use this as my 'metal' mod.
Definitely the most modern of any modules that I have and damn glad I got it. It does make the SL2X seem a bit tame, but they are different animals. I can definitely hear Vai and Satch on the EG5.
