Hey guys,

Just got in my Mod50 the other day, and had a chance to fire it up lastnight. SOUNDS absolutely freakin' incredible (I'll report more on that later :D ).

My problem is: the footswitch doesnt work!

The Channel select button ON the head itself works fine, and scrolls thru all 4 channels of the 2 modules. But when you plug in the 4-button Eggy footswitch with the midi cable, the lights on the footswitch go on, but the channels don't scroll thru on the amp.

NOTE: I've tried 2 different MIDI cables (Matt's, and my own), and also have tried out 3 different Mod Footswitches. So the problem is definitely internal to the amp. Is there some DIP switch settings that could have come loose or have been set wrong that I need to change? If so, how the heck do I go about doing that?

Thanks fellas...

do you have a multimeter?

measure the voltage on pins 1 & 3 and see if it reads anything.

dip switches don't usually move around.. so thats probably not the case. power should still feed out 1/3 & 6/7

if you have no idea wtf i'm talking about look at this:

Jeff, thanks man. You rock.

(Casey, thanks for the quick replies too.)

PROBABLY should have read thru the instruction manual before asking this question, huh? hahaha.

What can I say, I'm a mans man. I don't READ no stinkin' manuals!!!

Basically, I needed to calibrate my footswitch. Click footswitch channel 1, click channel selector on amp to ch1, press and hold. Repeat for 2, 3 and 4.

must be an eggie controller thing, i didn't have to do anything with my mfc5

My ADA MC-1 was just "plug and play" with my M4 as well.

I didnt know anything about this footswitch calibration procedure, but I told Nick he had nothing to worry about!

My MOD 50 and footswitch was totally plug and play when I got it. The only reason I knew it was midi was from the cable. It performed like any other amp footswitch Ive used... right out of the box.

I forgot to program the footswitch to talk with the amp. Period! Sometimes when you are doing everything you miss something!

if you want to ship all the amps to canada i'll gladly play test them all for you

Mine was also calibrated right from the get go.

Enjoy the amp nick!
