I have the mod 50 and the egnater custom 1x12 as well and they match great. matter of fact, I have them and a tourmaster 4100 on opposing setups in different rooms and you cant tell the differance.

Best sounding 4 X 12 I have heard in a long time. I played the Tourmaster at GC in San Antonio. I loved the amp and thought the cab looks great and sounded awesome. I have been toying with the idea, but I don't want or need to lug around a 4 x 12. I loved the way it sounded though and I don't even like Vintage 30's.

I am quite suprised. I played one at GC about a month ago and hated it. I own a Mod 50 and run a Stone Age 2x12 with G12-65's and love my tone. I tested the 4100 and a couple of Marshall and Mesa heads through the 4x12 and absolutely hated it. It sounded brittle. I wasnt crazy about thew 4100 either. Maybe both the head and cab were damaged. So many of you like both the head and cab there has got to be something to it. I must have played a bad pair. Just so you all know, it is at the GC in Chicago IL on Halstead Street.

Jeff, you might want to check it out.

Cheers

a couple of thoughts

our guitarist was so impressed at our church 4100 and bought one for his club gig. he hated his new 4100 cause it didnt sound as good as the one in church. (it was tweaked to maximize tone on his guitar). he set all the front knobs the same but no mojo. then he found out that the power grid settings in back were not set the same. once he reset it, it rocked.

the knobs are very sensitive on the 4100. one little touch can dramatically change the eq or gain etc. making the dif from ok to great.

I bet the cabs need to be broken in. When I played through them, I could tell they were a bit stiff and rough around the edge just a tad, but I bet with time, they would break in nicely

Ya let them sit there for another month or so and have every 12 yr old play Sweet Child of Mine though it and that should break it in nicely... :D

If it is "again" and you know what it is, the nice thing would be to enlighten me

I did a search and see it talked about but nothing telling me what esactly it is or what it does.

It is a patent pending attenuator for your speakers. Makes a brand new speaker say a vintage 30 sound like its 25 years old. Attenuates the high end. It's a foam disk you place in front of the speaker. That's it and anyone who has one can attest that they work! Gets rid of that nasty kack that V30s have.

I was eluding to all the bra jokes that would probably follow :)
