Egnater HBE Clip......

Just recorded a quick clip of VH riffs with my new Friedman modded HBE module. Mic is from my little Sony handheld camera in front of the cab.....

Damn - I love this! Great playing and the tones are very close to Eddie's old sound. Nice to hear rhythms on a demo, you always hear leads. With a deep plate reverb, phaser, and some light delay on it you'd nail it. So cool - give us some more!

Nice stuff - which module did you have Dave Modify?

Was wondering if he do the Brown Eye and Hairy Brown eye mods to a 2 channel Eggie module?

Love the live Zep cover your band did on Youtube!

Dave modded my Egnater MHG dual module into (channel A = Brown Eye channel B = Hairy Brown Eye).

That sounds great! Love the tone your getting.

Just called Dave about sending either my SL2 or EG3/4 to convert, can't decide yet which one I want to keep.

I got the C45 mod on the EG3/4 and the HBE on the SL2. Definitely killer together!! I wanted to post some this weekend on SUnday, but I got hit with the flu, and am finally back to normal today. I hope to get some done this week before I travel next week. I'll do my best :)

Question, is the HB and HBE more a Van Halen sound or do you all find it versatile? I know Eric loves his for everything from Led Zep to Slash to Zakk.

What is the C45?

I'd say it's versatile enough to do both man. It really lies in how you EQ it honestly. I can EQ it / setup the gain for VH...but also can do the same to set it up for more of a GnR or Zakk tone. Secondly, it also depends on what guitar / pickups I use. If I use my Heritage LP w/ BKP Rebel Yell "Steve Steven's" pickups...I get more of a Slash / vintagey tone...If I go with my EMG guitars..I can get more into the ZW territory.

It's not just the HBE that gets me there...it's everything in the signal chain!

True on the axe. I have one LP loaded with a Wolfetone TimbreWolf bridge bucker which is more modern and 15k. Still has good cleans though! My other LP has a 12K overwound hot PAF. SG has an 8k PAF and PRS has a 19k Dragon - but she does it all!
