Egnater 'M1' ModBox: could it work?

(I mentioned this in the NAMM 2009 thread, but thought I could elaborate a little)
If there were a high-voltage stompbox with a single slot for a module, could it work running as a distortion unit into an amp? i.e. like a regular stompbox? The module would have to go in at an angle; it's too long to stand up straight with its controls on top, and horizontally the controls would be harder to get to.

Could it work, though? Definitely having one footswitch for on/off, another for channel select?
Anybody else interested in something like this?

It's been discussed a long time ago, butt o give you the answer, no it can't be done. I can't really remeber the technical aspects of why it's a no go, but Bruce and Jeff replied to this question and the outcome was no can do.

That's cool. Just curious.
Well, any tube stompbox they come up with would rock, I'm sure, modules or no.

I'm thinking it could, except it would be the size of a Nintendo to house that big transformer, four tubes, a fan, etc.

Okay, yes it is possible to do, but I was really saying within the scope of whether it will ever be done, Egnater has said it won't happen, mostly for the reasons of extreme impracticality that you just sighted.

I have an old Nintendo that no longer works that Id be willing to donate.

 Excellent gentleman ... we have a plan!

Wow ... Eganter pedals, like the Fuchs stuff. One tube and a clean and dirty channel. Egggies on the floor.

Jeff ... Bruce????
