I get many, many requests for M4 preamps which, as many of you know, have not been made for quite a while. We are considering building a small batch. The problem is that in order for us to do this, our costs are way, way higher than when we built more of them. FYI, we used to sell them new for $400 and didn't really make much of anything on the M4 itself. It was sort of like the printer and cartridge thing. We make very little on the M4 rack but made our profit on the modules. Because of all this, to make any sense for us to do it, they would need to sell direct from us for $650 (without modules). Is there any real interest out there? Please let me know.
Thanks

What happened with the M2 idea?
I'd love to see that happen.

Yes, I would likely be interested at that price point. Keep us posted, Bruce!

Happy holidays! :)

I love my M4, don't really need another one. But...I would buy an M2/E2 in a heartbeat if you guys went ahead with it.

Bruce, question for you. Since it's introduction several years ago, why not offer to build (x) amount of M2/E2 units and see how many people will order, as so many seem to want them. Just a thought!

Happy New Year!

The reason we are able to offer the M4 like this is because it had already been in production. We simply order a gazillion parts and build them. The E2 design was never really finalized for production so there is still a lot of work left to get to that state. Probably still another 2 or 3 iterations (prototypes etc.) before it is ready for the market. Just not enough hours in a day to do it all, but I try.
Thanks

I'm down for the M4 and probably an SL2X.

Is the only difference between the E2 and M4 the number of modules it holds?

From my initial impressions the M2/E2 would be for 2 dual modules or single Egnater/single Randall, single race space, midi switching control with loop(s) design for use by itself (with power amp) or be able to integrate with other amps to have your choice of the modular possibilities and an amp you already have. Bruce correct me if I'm wrong on this & I know the r&d time has to be considerable!

Happy Holidays!

The limited run of Egnater M4 preamps is about to become reality. The M4, without modules, will sell direct only for $700USD. It will be identical to the latest dual sound version that we stopped producing a couple of years ago. Expect to start shipping late May 2013. This will be a very limited run that will be pretty much the number of commitments/prepayments we get between now and March 10, 2013. To get in on this, you must submit full payment of $725 (includes ground shipping in the US) as a check or MO to Bruce Egnater, or a Paypal GIFT (so no fees) to my Paypal address at begnater@aol.com. Please email me at begnater@aol.com if you have questions.

I know some of you were concerned you would miss the cutoff date of March 10th. I can wait just a few more days if anyone really wanted in but you must notify me at begnater@aol.com.
Thanks

Past the deadline but............we decided to build a few extras. So, for you procrastinaters, there are still a few available.

just saw this thread.

Any chance you have a couple sitting around for Doubleneck and me?

vs. the Armageddon?

Depends on the module - I run mine through a Mesa 2:90 into 2 4x12's and with either the MHG or the Erect it can take on just about anything :)

I also hear good things about Jaded Faith's heavy modules (Trilogy, Stein+ etc.) and Salvations too (esp. the Angel)

There was a rumour that Bruce might make us an Armageddon module - that would indeed be cool!!!
