Okay. I'm trying to setup my MOD100 (and modified RM100) for gigging purposes. I was trying to use my MidMate as the footswitch, but I ran into issues. I had hopes of using 0,1,2,3,4,9 for direct access to the six channels, but I can only seem to use it as: 01-06 (pressing two buttons to access a channel). Am I doing something wrong or is this the only way I can access all six channels?

Is there a better 6 button footswitch I can use? Does Eganter make a 6 button footswitch specifically for the MOD100?

Thanks, guys.

Any midi foot controller that sends a program change will work. I'm not clear on what you're trying to do? Are you using both amps at the same time?

No, not trying to use both amps at one time. I was trying to program my MidMate so I would only have to touch one foot controller button to change to any channel. Push "0" on the MidiMate get Module 1, Channel A. Push "1" on the MidiMate get Module 1, Channel B. Push "2" on the MidiMate get Module 2, Channel A... etc. Right now I can only get the MidiMate to function by pressing "0" then "1" to change to Module 1, Channel A. Then I must press "0" then "2" to switch to Module 1, Channel B, "0" then "3" to get to Module 2, Channel A... etc. I may not be doing it correctly, but if it's possible to do what I'm asking, I can't figure it out... give me an RF6 (or the equivalent) please.

Sounds like you're in instant mode; you need bank mode.

Bank Mode - Allows you to change presets within a bank of ten
presets with the touch of a single button.

Instant Mode - Allows you to change instantly from preset 01 to 99
with the touch of two buttons.

Controller Mode - Allows you to change presets within a bank of 5
presets with the touch of a single button, as well as access 5 buttons
which can send MIDI on/off control commands with the touch of a
single button

I tried bank mode and couldn't get it to work, I'll try again. It seemed like bank mode needed a pre-programmed midi device? Maybe it was a brain fart or maybe I'm just stupid.

Try this....

1) Make sure the Midi Mate was plugged into the MOD100 prior to powering it up
2) Make sure the Midi Mate is receiving phantom power from the MOD100 (i.e., is the LCD on the Midi Mate lit, even though there is no 9V power supply plugged into it, only the midi cable from the MOD100?)
3) Make sure the Midi Mate is on Bank Mode
4) Press '0' on the Midi Mate. Then, using the channel switch on the front panel of the MOD100, cycle through and select the module and channel you want to correspond to preset '0' on the Midi Mate. Once the correct channel has been selected, press and hold the channel switch on the front of the MOD100 for 3 seconds.
5) Press '1' on the Midi Mate. Then, using the channel switch on the front panel of the MOD100, cycle through and select the module and channel you want to correspond to preset '1' on the Midi Mate. Once the correct channel has been selected, press and hold the channel switch on the front of the MOD100 for 3 seconds.
6) Now, try switching back and forth between the two modules by pressing '0' and '1' on the Midi Mate. Does it work? If so, repeat step (4) above until you have assigned all of your module channels to a preset number on the Midi Mate.

Let me know if this works for you!

Thanks, Rob and MarcoR!

Rob, I have a homework assignment! I'll try that out tonight if I have time. Otherwise tomorrow. I have off for an awesome dental appointment. :D

Thanks again. Everything was plugged and powered, but I couldn't get anything to register in Bank Mode, only in Direct Access. I always used Direct with my Voodu Valve and just programmed a bank on the Voodu, say 100-109, to use with the MidiMate and it worked flawlessly. I'd still prefer a six button switch, the MidiMate takes up tons of real estate.

There was in fact a six button Egnater footswitch that was specifically made for the MOD100. It was quite wide, however.

Anyways, they are long out of production, as they were built by Axxess Electronics which closed its doors a couple of years ago.

You never know; Bruce might have one stowed away in a storage locker somewhere. Shoot him a PM!

I had one of Bruce's original 6 button switches with my MOD 100. It was big, heavy (made from steel), and had the strongest springs on the plunger footswitches. No accidental channel changing with that one.

It was long. But that was nice because the buttons were spaced out just right. You didn't risk stepping on the wrong button.

 that was it. I was doing it right the whole time. Once you confirmed the procedure, I pulled out my backup MidiMate and BINGO! Worked as expected. Good I'm not an idiot, bad I have a bum MidiMate.

Thanks, Rob.

Drew, you should contact Jim Chowning at Rocktron. He can probably diagnose the problem with your Midi Mate over email and sell you whatever replacement parts you need directly. I have had excellent support experience from Jim!

If interested, let me know and I can provide his contact details.

Yeah, that would be cool. When I get home tonight, time permitting, I'm going to do a factory reset on the non-working MidiMate and see if that helps clear things out. I didn't think of that until my ride into work this morning. You never know, computers like getting reset and I've seen more than one item come back to life after a reset. I'm just happy I got things working, I was getting frustrated working with a nonfunctional footswitch.
