Egnater Mod 50 and Reverb

I'm fortunate to have purchased a Mod 50, looking forward to officially joining the Egnater family.

I like to play with reverb on the cleans, maybe a touch on the leads. My Mod 50 does not have reverb. I understand I can send it in and have reverb installed in place of parallel loop. Also, that the reverb is not assignable to channels or modules, so whatever level is set, is there on all channels.

Does anyone have any insight or info on how best to get and effect reverb on the Mod 50, such as with a reverb pedal, which pedals work well, which reverb types work well (spring, hall, etc.) etc., and any feedback on the reverb quality for those that have it installed.

I guess the above is a long and stupid way of saying - Tell me everything you know about reverb and the Mod 50! Thanks

I don't have a MOD 50 but my MOD 100 has reverb. I don't use many effects and I always have just a little reverb running on all of my sounds. I figured why not have it in there since I don't tweak it. One less thing to worry about.

I think it's easier for Bruce to install it on the MOD 50 too. Mine sounds nice, it's darker than my Mark IV's reverb but it has more reflections in it's decay which is cool and more natural sounding. Worth the money, and for some reason I thought it would increase the value of it if I sell it one day. It's unique. A lot of 100 watters don't have reverb.

I can unplug it from the parallel loop if I need it for a processor. But I can always just leave it and run a multi effects processor in the series loop. I think you have to do that anyway to make use of certain effects in one.

To me having reverb in the MOD 50 makes more sense than the MOD 100 since it's so portable. You can take it anywhere and still have an effect to fill out your sound. Just bring the MOD 50, 1X12 cab, a cord and a guitar. Just a thought.

I have the Mod50 w/ Reverb and it rocks. I agree. I couldn't see having the Mod50 w/o Reverb! W/ it and a delay, a tube screamer, and a wah pedal....i'm in heaven!!!

I use my Mod50 w/ the COD a lot w/ the verb and some delay. Its to DIE for ;).

Eric,

Totally agree - what a great combination. So simple and so great sounding. I have the TS-8, a Boss delay and a Wah for my on the go rig.

How does the factory reverb on your MOD 50 sound compared to other amp's factory reverbs?

Thanks for the comments. I just bought a verbzilla off Ebay, looks like a very good pedal for the price (lots of good reviews) and I'm hoping it will work in the parallel loop. But your comments have me thinking about just installing it in the head. The Egnater shop is only about 15 minutes away here in Michigan, but based on the announcement they just made, sounds like it would take a while to put in reverb. Now, I am no amp tech, but I've poked around and done my fair share of noodling: How difficult would it be to put in the reverb package by itself if I just bought it from Egnater? Do you know if soldering is required? I'd much rather have it installed than use a pedal. Anyone ever install reverb? Thanks.........

my reverb tank is similar to ones like that were in old fenders etc. they wired it up for me, and all they did was put wire 1/4" inputs / outputs that go into the parallel efx loop, and mounted the tank on the front part of the amp behind the egnater logo. It shouldn't be too terribly hard.

I have a Mod 50 with reverb and I'm glad that I do. It is a good reverb. It is not as lush as Fender reverbs or the Soldano Space Box, but I use reverb sparingly. If you just use a little bit to add depth to your sound the Egnater reverb is just fine. It only costs an extra 200...for the Bogner Shiva adding reverb is 350, so the Egnater is also a bargain. As a matter of fact the Mod 50 is an incredible bargain.

+1 on his comment. That's very similar to what I would say :).
