I spoke to Bruce's partner, Frank, at the Amp Lounge today.

Apparently, we can start looking for new production of M4’s towards the end of this year. While the chassis may be made overseas, they are considering producing the modules in MI.

While it sounds like no definitive plans have been made, this still sounds promising.

I, for one, love the Egnater modular line and don't want to see it die.

There's still a part of me that would really love to see the Modular line stay in the US, at least as far as actual assembly goes. I know it's a drop in the ocean, but at least we could generate a handful of new jobs here in the US. I don't mind the frames, chassis, and heads being "mass produced" one bit. The real part of the tone is in the modules anyway. I realize that there are many contributing factors to why US production isn't really cost effective anymore, in any industry, but that's neither here nor there. I am very confident that no matter what Bruce and Co. decide to do, quality and tone will be top notch.

It's good to hear some positive news about the modular line in any case. Very much looking forward to seeing what "new and improved" features we get when all this starts to come out.

Long live the modular line!

I've said it before, but I'll say it again in case the repetition makes it come true: I'd be awesome if the new modular line had a rebel/tweaker sized head that accepted a modules! How cool would the mod20 or mod22 (like the RM22 that takes 2 modules) be!

In the meantime, back to rocking out on the mod50

That's exactly where I was going with this.

Well, if you're doing both of those modules in red, might as well do a red E2!!!

Seriously, though. ANY modular news at this point is good news. Love the loop adapter that Bruce is working on now, so I can't wait to hear what's next.
Wish there was a way to take an EG3/4 and add a couple of toggle switches to go from stock to the 'X' mod......

Gene:

Why don't you:
a.) Buy the EG3/4 I'm currently selling
b.) Have me ship it directly to Bruce to be converted into a EG3/3
c.) Have Sacred Groove make you a custom red faceplate
d.) Sit back, crack a pint and admire your new custom-creation, while
e.) I sit back, crack a pint and enjoy deleting my classified posting.....

3/3?

I think it's an Egnater Dual EG3 module?

I'm curious . . . how would that differ from using the 3 of an EG3/4?

The EG3/4 is actually closer in reality to a EG4/4. Therefore to some of us who are particularly over enthusiastic about the IE4 Preamp Ch3, we sorta get worked up about "that" particular sound.

Gene ... he does have a point. I'll add this to that. And it's a funny thing this has come up. I have a EG3/4 that underwent some various alterations in the past. I wanted to use it more so I decided to get it out and do somethig with it. Long story short I ended up sending it to Jeff Hilligan for modding to EG3/4X spec.

EG3/3 was an option on the table and Jeff said he could do it.

I'm just sayin' ... and also Pete at Gigamods could do a faceplate for you too.

I would love to see a dual EG3 module, especially if it could have the 3-way voicing switch like on the TOL amps with the TOS mod.

But even more than that, I could really use an EG1/2 module. The T/D in my M4 is decent for cleans, but not as refined as the EG1/2 channels on my MICA and IE-4. I know Bruce used to sell EG1 and EG2 single-channel modules so it must be possible. I would probably buy one of those but you never see them come up for sale.

According to Ian, they are still making modules. They may be able to make an EG1/2 for you. It certainly doesn't hurt to ask.

I'm waiting for a small, lower powered mod in a combo form (like the Rebel 30)....
