What module would you use to get closest to David's lead tones on P.U.L.S.E.
Specifically the leads on Sorrow - not necessarily the intro riff, but the solo sections.
EG5? MHG? EG3/4?

Note this is a very different tone than the studio version on Momentary Lapse of Reason.
I'm really looking for his P.U.L.S.E. tone - muich warmer and midrangey.
Lot's of feedback, really smooth, and very little bite. (At least what I think of as bite)

David's getting the tone primarily form a Pete Cornish P2.
Wondering if the tone can be approximated with an Egnater module.
I'd hate to buy a $900 stomp box, if I could get there with a module.

thank you in advance for sharing your input and experience.

sounds like the SL2 with a 2290 delay could cop that tone.

maybe an EG3/4 too.

definitely too smooth to achieve with an EG5, in my opinion.

I'd say a EG3/4 .. I'd love to have a 2290 too ;)....but that's some major dough ;)

Thank you both for replying.
I was really hoping the EG3/4 would come up.
From everything I've heard - descriptions and sound clips - I think that's my lead module.

As funny as it may sound, I'm looking at loading an M4 (or possibly 2 E2's) with:
T/D - VX - BMAN - and the EG3/4

Three flavors of clean and one kick butt higher gain module.
Any other responses are certainly appreciated.

I'm not much for Green Day but the line fits well here with Egnater - "wake me up when September ends"
Until then, I'll be practicing my chops.

there's never enough slots for modules :) My favorites are DLX, COD, VX, SL2, and EG5. I absolutely love my M4 man!!! I couldn't live w/o it. I will never need another preamp!!! Modules, yes....preamp no ;)
