For everybody that has had issues with using a multi effects box in the Rebel effects loop: I tried plugging my Boss ME-70 directly into the effects return and plugged the guitar into the input on the ME-70. It works great. Your signal chain is uncompromised (although you are bypassing the Rebel's preamp). Essentially the Rebel becomes a power amp only and the multi effects a preamp and effects processor (very cool if you have preamp sims built into the multi effects). Has anybody else tried this with other multi effects units?

I'd think that losing the Rebel's preamp would be a deal breaker, but I guess not.

I gotta say this doesn't make a lot of sense to me either. If it works it works... but why would you want to skip the Rebel's pre-amp and replace it with a Boss floor pedal. It seems kind of self defeating to me- the pre-amp is the heart of almost any amp; certainly an Eggie Rebel. Still, whatever gets you through the night...

This is an option, not a replacement. I love the way the amp sounds with no effects. The problem is if you use a multi effects box to front end the amp the signal chain is all wrong (think reverb before preamp and gain, etc.). People have had issues putting multi effects into the effects loop. So, this is a way to use multi effects and take advantage of the amp simulations built into the Boss. It's not better, just different. Comprende?

That's true- People have had complaints about the Rebel loop. Cool- No worries!

:D
