My Egnater Rebel 20 head has developed a problem.
When I'm using a Boss GE-7 in the FX loop to give my solo boost the sound cuts out intermittently - I've tried another GE7 as I thought the pedal may be at fault but the same thing happens. I've also tried different leads as well and the problem still occurs.
Both my H & K Tubemeister and Hayden MoFo are fine with the same set up.
Any ideas?

Does the amp do the same thing if it's used on the input instead of the loop?
Not all effect loops are designed the same. Personally, I don't even use the loop in my rebel 20 except for a reverb pedal once in a while. I don't really see an advantage for putting any kind of boost in the loop, I would only use time based effects like chorus, Delay, Flanger, etc. in the loop anyway.

Have you swapped cables? Maybe you have a wonky one. Happened to me once -

I have mate - tried various ones and the problem persists.

Try another pedal in the loop. Or try just a cable directly from the effects send to the effects return, just to see if there's something wrong with the connections/wiring in the effects loop.

Does the thing cut out when you do anything in particlular with the pedal, like only when it's engaged, or right when you engage it, or when you turn the boost volume up on the pedal?

leads = cables ... duh

This probably won't be of any help at all but sounds like there is a bad connection inside the amp, possibley around the fx connectors
