First post here, Hello to all!

Can anyone here help me? I'm replacing the B+3 filter cap (c129) and was wondering if I could use a 350v rated cap in that spot.

I traded some gear for this amp in non-working condition. Burnt dropping resistor (r118). Filter cap c117
had arced between the cap and pcb leaving carbon and therefore a dead short. I cleaned that up, replaced r118 and moved B+3 filter cap (c129) over to replace c117 in the hopes of getting an answer. If 350v will work, I can get it fired up tonight!!

If not, 47uf 450vs are on there way!

Thanks in advance!
Tony

My rebel 20 puts out 367 plate volts so if it fails another arc will happen i surmise.
Better get at least 400v cap.

Thanks for the response!

I will wait for the 47uf/450vs in the mail.

Mine has also about 367 volts on the plates but other caps may not be taking this voltage so it depends if his cap is for the power tube section ?
367 is my plate voltage and is real hard on most 6v6 , i ask for high ip tubes not early breakup tubes.
If they draw less than 30ma they end up redplating and crackle is not to be ignored if your smart !

Bruce really opened the power up on these small tubes in the rebels ,so i would not set my bias above 40ma per side because ive lost 3 tubes in 6 months,i play it every single day abit !

I do run a weber mass lite 50 at minimum load but it cuts the power abit even so !

Ive been running RI mullard el84 & RI tungsol 6v6 tubes and redplated both types one at a time, i ordered 3 match tubes last go around. !
