Hello all. I am really new to tube amps, but I have recently acquired both a rebel 20 and Renegade heads (due to luck and some trading) and I love them but after playing for awhile and reading other posts I want to change out the both the preamp and poweramp tubes (both are stock). I have tried to read up online about changing tubes and every where I look there are warnings about electocution and of course I want to avoid that. The renegade is set to bias very simply but my question is there anything to fear contacting while changing out the tubes? I have tried to locate diagrams for both amps to see what I need to avoid. I have looked and I don't need to mess with the circuit board itself on the renegade so am I good unplugging (letting things cool for an hour or two) and pulling preamp covers and tubes? I know this is a newbie question, but I don't have any friends that know anything about tube amps and I don't want to pay for something that I should know, but don't want to kill myself either.
Any pointers would be helpful.
