Greets!

About 5 minutes ago, my precious amp died.
Probably nothing serious...i hope.

It's a Renegade 65w head.

Could it be a fuse? It didn't give away some kind of noise or anything - it just died.
I've had it for about 5 months now, if that does make any difference.

Any tips?

What do mean by died? Is it powering up or not? No power probably equals fuse blown, and easy to fix.

a power tube could have went and took a fuse with it? Check the fuses and see which one blew. Make sure you replace it with the same type fuse. How old is the amp? There are internal fuses in the Renegade too but, check what you can on the outside.

Well, since the whole amp died at once, not just a pair of tubes, i guess that the problem is on the inside.
I bought the amp new, about 5 months ago.

Anyway, since i don't have any experience what so ever of problems like this, i'll hand the amp in tomorrow to people who can deal with it!

You don't necessarily have to do that. If it is not powering up at all- Is the jewel light coming on?- that is probably just a fuse, maybe a fuse and power tubes. You can fix that yourself in five minutes. Probably cheaper, and certainly faster.

Up to you.

Here's some advice that is NOT endorsed by Egnater. Use the 'penny trick' and put something in the fuse socket to see if it powers up. Actually, it would probably have to be a screw or something. If it powers up, you know which fuse it was.

THEN IMMEDIATELY PULL THE SCREW/PENNY OUT AND GET A FUSE! ;) :)

DO NOT DO THIS- AND QUIT GIVING MORON ADVICE FUCK HEAD!!!!!!!!
Use a digital meter and check fuse for conductivity or buy a new fuse- or better yet, contact egnater and see why this would happen.

srinivassa ???

Is your real name McGyver?? Never ever do this. If there is a shorted component in the amp that cause the fuse to blow to protect itself, you will surely cause additional and potentially severe damage.

DO NOT DO THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
