wow.... I'm in love with this head's tone! can anyone tell me if the Renegade will cover the ground the Seminar head covers?

if it does I'm sold on the Renegade

Renegade does have Seminar head character. But it has a dedicated clean and other items. I think when playing the Renegade it is Seminar improved.

I played both at NAMM and the Renegade's overdrive channel is VERY close to the seminar head.

I literally have goose bumps. :inlove:

So Jeff.....when will the Renegade be available? and how much will it cost? I need to start saving...this will be my next head. :D

PERFECT! I'm back home in Sept. so I'll get it around that time, I prefer to have it delivered to Dominican Republic instead of Barcelona where I'm currently living and then taking it home.....

+1  Been trying to get mine back lately. Not giving it up though.

there are two forumites selling a couple of Seminar heads

metalmm785 and jski59

I was ABOUT to buy one last night, but I held back and controlled my GAS, I think it's wiser to wait for the Renegade.... (Reverb/footswitchable channels, power scale, etc etc) and acording to JEff it's in the same ballpark as the Seminar head tonewise.

This whole "it has more features, it must be able to replace it" logic does not work in practice, especially with guitar gear.

When I was buying my M4, I thought, "I guess I wouldn't need my IE4 anymore if I bought the EG3/4 module."

WRONG. Luckily, I came to my senses, and I still have both preamps.

The seminar head is a turret-mounted, hand-wired beast that's easy to work on, and easy to modify. It's in the same league with any boutique Marshall clone.

The Renegade might be the greatest amp ever conceived or built, but it doesn't mean it's "better" than the seminar head, and it doesn't mean it can replace the seminar head.
