Just got the head today and got to spend a few hours with it. Taking it out to a gig tonight. The amp was very impressive in the store and here at home. Tonight is the final challenge.

Here's a quick video I recorded today. I'm just wanking around with clams all over, so ignore that.

I'm getting ready to head out for the night here in just a second, so I may not be able to reply to any posts until tomorrow. Rock on...

Chris

Dude, that's some good sounding shit man :). I'm gonna have to play another Tourmaster since they've updated them. I owned one for a bit, but it just couldn't compare for me to the Mod50 and M4 rig. So I took it back.

Chris , that sounded really sweet !

I wasn't expecting that at all ! Reminds me of the Egnater mod 100 I had before .

Very nice indeed ! ;)

Sounds great Chris! I got to play 4100 the other day and it was just ripping. Nice tight attack and low end. Sounded really nice! I was thinking about picking one up as well.

Thanks guys. It's a pretty darn cool amp if you ask me! Heavy as hell, though! I think the head alone is 60lbs or something.

How'd the gig go with it?

Nice!

BTW. what is this update I keep hearing people alude to?

I'm not real sure. I just saw where it was mentioned over on TGP.

I'd like to know more about this as well. Maybe Jeff could clue us in?

Great sounds! I actually have never played a Tourmaster and am not in the market for one since I have a MOD 50, but for the price that really sounds like it cant be beat.

As for the weight, all Egnater stuff is built like tanks so that doesnt surprise me in the least.

Great tone man! Wow. Good video too... gives a great example of all 4 channels and the amps overall versatility.

I might have to stop at a GC today at lunch, in between xmas shopping, to try one out, just for fun!

That being said, It just baffles the hell out of me, why ANYONE would pay $1500 for a Marshall, when you could get an Egnater Tourmaster for around $1200-1300.

Thanks! I started experimenting with the contour controls and power settings and may be finding better tones than are in this video. I'll keep experimenting and do another video when I figure everything out.

Once you are happy let me know and we will get you up on the website!

Thump - looks like you and me are both ex-Shiva, Egnater Converts... hahaha.

:)

The Shiva is a great amp, just not for me. This Tourmaster does the "darker high gain" thing better for my purposes. I just put the Shiva up on eBay and will replace it with something a little different. Probably a Splawn.

Chris

Chris,

After you add the Splawn arent you in MOD 50 price territory? Have you considered a MOD 50 with EG5 module for modern high gain and the SL2 for modded marshall high gain instead of a Tourmaster and Splawn? Just throwing it out there.

Nah, I haven't really considered that too much. I need to read more about those, though. THanks for the suggestion!

If you want to try out a Mod50, I live in Central IL. I have a Mod50 1x12 combo and a M4 modular preamp w/ VHT 2/90/2. If you have another ampfest down in St Louis, I'll have to come down. I just can't make it this weekend unfortunately.
