Looking for some advice. I have a Tourmaster that has a problem with the OD1 channel. I was playing around with the amp the other day and when I changed channels to the OD1 I could barely get any volume at all. I called Egnater and spoke to someone named John who advised to switch the preamp tube for V5, which I did. The channel worked with a new tube until I activated the contour feature for the channel and then I went back to the low volume problem. I tried to swap tubes again to regain the volume but now the problem seems to be present even with a new tube in V5. All of the other channels work fine. Anyone have any ideas?

I have never heard of this problem, but I would get back in touch with John about it. Probably a funky tube- which they will replace under warranty in the first t90 days if that is the problem- but this is strange.

If you have extra tubes that you know to be good, try replacing them and see what happens.

I don't think its a tube issue. I bought a brand new tube and it worked fine for about a couple of hours until I hit the contour for OD1. After I lost volume for the second time I switched the tubes around to see if the problem would follow the tube but it stayed with the channel. I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the amp. The amp is about 2 years old and has sat in my front room. While it's played pretty consistently it has not been stressed by any means. How often does Bruce chime in around here? I wouldn't mind his opinion or I can contact John again to get warranty work started but would prefer to see if there's an easier fix than sending it off.
