Hi guys...

I can't seem to figure out how to get my G System to work with My 4100 head. I ran it through the loop, but nothing!
Connection: guitar input into the TC, TC SEND to the amp input, Amp SEND to TC RETURN, TC OUT to amp RETURN. Cant get the TC relays to change channels on the head either. HELP!!??

I don't know the TC but I have a Tourmaster combo:

1. You have to have the loop engaged- Make sure the red light is on on the footswitch. If you are not suing the footswitch, check your loop settings on the back.

2. Make sure your send and return levels are up- usually about 3 o'clock is good.

3. I don't know for sure, but I would guess you have to be running fully through the loop. Plug the guitar right in to the amp. Run the TM send into the TC input, TC output into the TM return.

One or more of those ought to do it. Let me know!

Doesn't do it! i get dry signal, you can hear the guitar, but no effects and no channel switching on the amp. I remember on my Road King there were so many inputs/outputs on the back that i had like 3 or 4 cables hooked up to the TC, but this amp has only one send, one return.

Thanks much for the reply though...and if something else comes to mind, shout it to me!

Cheers!

This is the correct way. Your using the insert loop I assume? Are you sure you have the insert loop enabled? Have you tried any other loop on the G? Lets get the effects happening first and then worry about the channel switching.

From TC's website i figured out how to get the effects working... it's guitar to amp, amp SEND to TC RETURN, TC OUT to amp RETURN. effects work. I think i might need to get a cable made to go from TC SW OUT to foot switch in on the head??

Yes, but now you're excluding the pregain effects on the G-System which is fine if thats what you want.

Yep, you could wire it up yourself. You may need two TSR jacks and use both the switches on the G-System. Maybe John Ewing can give you the mapping of the 8 pin connector.

UGH! or i could just take it to Tour Supply and have them set it all up! I'm not a super gear head, so pre gain stuff just goes a bit over my head sometimes. I just want it to switch effects, switch amp channels, and sound good!

Btw, i see your from Frederick? I am originally from Hagerstown. Small world!

Right on man, I hear ya.

I wouldn't have the patiance to wait; I'd have one end of that cable stripped by now and be touching different colored wires until I had it mapped out. Then break out some aligator cables and hook it to some TRS ends pluged into the G. Get that shite switchen!

I remember hearing somewhere that it is not s standard MIDI cable that is used on the Tourmaster footswitch so you might want to double check on that.

Im next to Annapolis in severna park.

So i have the answer!!!!

jdmmusic.com makes the cable (which plugs directly into the footswitch input on the back of the head. 25' cable is $70

Cheers! Sean
