Hello, I just picked up this amp and love it!!!

One thing I would like is more clean headroom (e.g. more power) so the amp doesn't break up quite so early. I'm really close on this...but our drummer is loud and I end up bumping the amp up to where it starts breaking up a little (gain at 9:00 and master at around 3:00).

Is there any alternative to the 6L6s that would maybe bump up the overall wattage a little bit?

Congrats for your new Tweaker, fish ! I think the 6550 would give what you're looking for but i'm not sure.I've never even tried a Tweaker,so..Good luck!

Last night, I rehearsed w/ the band again. I dimed the masters and then used the gain for controlling volume (as opposed to gain at 9:00 and master at 3:00...master is at more like 5:00...gain is at 7:30). This way I was able to get the clean tone at a little louder volume. Should have done that in the first place I guess.

The amp freaking rocks btw...I'm really impressed so far.

Congrats on the new amp fish (meant to reply to your other post). I have a new Tweaker 1/2 stack myself and just love it. Wish I was home more often to use it tho but, it is what it is. Glad you found your settings. I'm still playing around but narrowing it down quite a bit.

Swap away my friend. I used EL34's in mine. It bumps it up a little but i'd try swapping pre amps to to something with a little less gain. The hardest part is how to tame a load ass drummer. :( You could also do a speaker swap. This will most likely be more effective in the end.

I have swapped the 40 for the 88 head and a 2x12 cab...rehearsing tonight...I'll post a review tomorrow. I can't wait to hear this bad boy at rehearsal levels!!
