Hello guys,

I bought a brand new egnater tweaker combo 15 watt, that i previously tried at the store floor.

The only problem, is that i live in an island, so i had to ship it form the mainland back to where i live.

When the amp arrived, it arrived dead.

What i did so far:
The 9v battery test to the speaker cord - PASSED! It "thumps", so it's working.
Check both fuses: PASSED! - Even checked with multimeter, and they're good.
Check all 5 valves: ????? I do not have spare valves so i cannot change them. However, they all glow. Do not seem burnt. But i cannot be 100% sure they're all working properly.

I took out, and reinserted the valves. No change.

The amp powers up, and the "ON" light is lit. When i crank the volume and gain, all the way up, i do hear the faint sound of the high gained guitar, through the speaker! As i lower the master volume (at about 2/3 o'clock) the sound reduces to nothing.

Should i do the check for the fuse, or just replace the valves? (taking all the valves off, and turning the amp on, to see if the fuse blows, although it as not blowed yet...)

Thanks for the help. I'm really new to the All valve amp. Just played this amp at the store, and thought it had a great tone.

Wow sorry man that really sux and I hope it turns out to be something really simple. Contact Egnater support from their web site and I'm sure they'll be able to help you figure it out. Good luck.

You've probably already checked these, but....

Do you have the speaker plugged into the "Use this first" jack on the back?

Do you have the impedance switch set to 16 Ohms?

Do you have something plugged into the "return" on the effects loop, but nothing in the "send" jack?

If your answers are, yes, yes, no, then something probably got knocked out of connection in the shipping.

CoachJM,

Man, that was exactly the post i needed to see!

"If your answers are, yes, yes, no, then something probably got knocked out of connection in the shipping."

That made light in my head, so i opened up the guts of the amp, and there it was! AN UNPLUGGED WIRE! lol

Reconnected it. Closed the amp. Boom! problem solved.

Thank you so much. That was the quickest "fix" ever!

Daiwana,

Glad I was able to help get the right neurons to fire in your brain!

Enjoy your new amp. I love the sound of my Rebel 30.
