I love my Egnater tweaker and have recently purchased a second one. I turned it on today for the first time to test it out and there's no output. Did some trouble shooting. I changed the fuse, 6v6's and preamp tubes still no output. So, I took it apart and checked the plate voltage at the standby switch which read 414vdc - off position and read 413vdc in the on position. I know that this is not right. I know that the correct readings are 414vdc in off position and 360vdc in the on position. Any suggestions as to what is wrong? Is it the standby switch or possibly the transformer? Thanks for your advice - help me please :(

I can't really give any advice on your situation, but I had to send back a Tweaker to GC because of a horrible popping noise. The noise got faster and faster and then the amp just died. Sent it back and got a Rebel 20.

I had a bad tweaker from GC (right out of the box) I just swapped out all the tubes and when it still wasn't working, I returned it for another (floor model). I would return it, if it's new? If you try to fix it and can't, you void your warraty.

I did not buy it new. So returning it is not an option. Thanks.

swap the tubes from your good tweaker. Was the fuse blown? I don't think it's the switch IMHO also there are two fuses on the board, inside the amp. Did you measure voltage any where else?

Yes, I changed every tube and fuse. The switch is good. I had both tweakers side by side with my volt meter checking at various points. One thing I did notice was the tubes did not get as hot as the good tweaker and both of the transformers were cold. The plate voltage with the good amp is 360vdc with stdby on and on the bad amp it never changes - it stays @ 414vdc. I just found out that the person I bought the amp from is going to take it back minus shipping. :)
