Hi,
I was recording with my Einstein 50 running pretty hot yesterday for a couple of hours and heard a pphhhhhfffFFFTT! and all the crunch was gone. I was still getting a fairly loud but much cleaner (and dull) tone. I was playing on channel 1 mode 3.
After this happened, I could no longer switch channels or modes, the channel switching was unresponsive.
Luckily, we stepped out for awhile and got something to eat. I stopped home to grab my box of tubes, and when I got back, when I turned the amp back on it was 100% fine!
I assume that there is a preamp tube that may be on its way out, but I've never had a tube come back to life on me like this.
Why would the channel switching stop working in this case?
Thanks for any input!
Jim
