EInstein 8Ohm connect to a 16 Ohm box

Question:

Is it possible to connect the Einstein 8 Ohm exit with a 16 Ohm input of my box to reduce the output volume.
The idea is to be able to push the voulme knob a little bit higher when I´m playing at night.
16Ohm to 16Ohm means that I´m very fast a too high volumes to play at night.

I tried it out.

I think it changes the sound a little bit, but reduces the voulme not that much I hoped.

I went back to 16Ohm on both sides.
