Einstein Biasing - question

I am going to put EL34 SEDs in my 1x12 Einstein combo tomorrow. On the Diezel site, the instructions say to remove the 'jack corresponding' fuse. Which fuse is that? Other than the mains fuse and tube fuse, the only other fuses I see are a 1,6A and a hard to reach fuse that is right behind the channel/master switch jack.

Also, is the bias setting 35mA? I saw a post where Peter said that is his preferred setting, but on the diezel site it says 60-70 mA for EL34.

Just trying to clear things up before I do the biasing...

thanks,

brian

The 60-70mA is for the pair. The fuse is located directly below the bias points, on the back of the amp (at least on my Herbert).

I don't see a fuse near the bias points on my Einstein...

thanks,

brian

The back panel in the combo says bias to 65 mA. That's what I've used. When I've biased I've removed the tube fuse.

Oh and when you get the SEDs installed, do report back on how they sound compared to the stock EL34s.

Ok, so it is the 'Tube Fuse' I remove?

I am also puytting in Tung Sol New Edition 12AX7s. I'll report back on that as well. No idea if I should just put them in V1-V3 or if I should put them in other positions as well...

later,

brian
