Einstein channel 1 volume vs 2

I notice that the lead sound of channel 1 (mode 3) sounds more powerfull than channel 2.
If I put the same volume and the same amount of gain on both channels there is a real difference of volume, the channel 1 is definetely louder.

Did someone notice the same think, and did someone understand why

Yeah, that's the case. Just set the channel volume a little higher on channel 2. You would suspect because Ch.1 Mode 3 is more compressed that would be quieter, but it isn't.

I haven't experienced this. IMO 2nd channel and ch1 mode 3 can't be compared when it comes to gain. The 2nd channel has WAY more. I mean I keep the gain in mode 3 at about 11-12 o'clock and for the same amount of gain on ch2 I have the gain down to like 9-10 o'clock with a humbucker guitar.

Yes, I experienced the same fact.
I wouldn't say, channel 1 mode 3 is louder, but when I play channel 1 mode 3 for heavy rhythm work and switch to channel 2 for soloing, it won't cut through the band. I sometimes tap on both switches (Channel and master 2) to get the right amount of volume or sometimes I set the volume on channel 2 much higher compared to channel 1. But I#m not really satisfied with both solutions.

I have to say, that I don#t play with higher gain settings - channel 2 gain is not more than ten, channel 1 eleven or twelve. Maybe that is problem, but higher gain on channel 2 sounds too compressed in my opinion.
Actually I would love to have channel 1 mode 3 sound (with master 1) on channel 2, but a bit louder (or maybe channel 2 sound with less gain and higher volume on default).
I mentioned master 1 sound, cause master 2 changes color of sound a little bit.

Maybe Peter has an idea of a suitable sound - adjustment/tweaking to avoid that problem.

I'd say the 2nd has more compression. Sometimes I also prefer 1/3 for leads, but for the very liquid stuff 2 is awesome. . . .

Thanks for responses.
Apparently I'm not the only one to notice this difference of volume between the two channels.
At first, I thought my amps had a problem on channel 2, but finally it seems to be normal.

Agree with what's been said. Many times I prefer Ch1 Mode3 as it's more dynamic and tighter/opener. When i bought the amp, that was the sound that sold me.

But in a live situation recently I was using Ch2 quite a bit, it gave a very phat tone with my Tele. Maybe Ch2 really comes to live with meaty single coils or P90s rather than with Humbuckers. Actually I like Ch2 better with less gain, as the sound is more saturated, it doesn't need so much gain to be fluid.

I am happy to have the 2 different flavours, and as they both have gain and volume as well as there's a second master, there should be no issue whatsoever, right?

Hmm, I've found that Channel 1/mode 1 (clean) on the prototype is a LOT louder then modes 2 & 3, and louder then channel 2 whilst using the same master volume!!

;)

Hi,
I realized the same thing - but only with gain set about 1 - 2 o' clock in channel 1. When I set gain to about 10-11, then mode 2 is much louder than mode 1 and mode 3 much louder than mode 2. I realized, that adjusting gain is a very important thing with Einstein. I'm very careful with gain. I even changed the pickups to get a better match with Eistein's gain affairs.
For pickups I can recomend ACY's guitar lounge - a hint from Peter. Acy is Very helpful and knows, what he is talking about - well, as far as it concerns pickups, speakers and guitar-sound in general!!! ;)
