I noticed that Ch. 2 sounds more "Modern" while chn. 1 mode 3 sounds more OPEN and a bit more VH4ish......... am I right?

Vh4 AND Einstein owners (for the ones who have owned both amps) how can I get a VH4 type of sound with my einstein? Mode 3 sounds a bit like it....am I correct?

PETER: which tubes would make my Einstein sound tighter and vh4ish?

I've owned a Einstein and now have a VH4.

I would consider Ch1 Mode 3 as the best VH4 tone you can get out of the Einstein. Yet you won't be able to produce the same amount of aggressiveness and power but if you set the gain at about 2 o'clock and mids pretty high you'll get into VH4 territory.

I prefer the Einstein's voicing to the VH4s...

Mode 3 gives a sound in the same ballpark as the VH4 channel 3. It's tighter then the lead channel, but I'm not sure whether this is what you mean by 'open'!!

I spend most of my playing time there actually. It's easily tight enough for palm-muted thrash rhythm playing but will do Adam Jones impressions by changing pick attack...
