Einstein - Confused?

I thought I had a pretty good idea of what an Einstein was supposed to sound like. I was ready to order one when the amp dealer told me he didn't think the Einstein would meet my needs. He said the Einstein has a Nu-Metal tone. I thought it was supposed to have a more vintage tone...something like an XTC 101b only a little more aggressive.

What's up?

no einstein expert here , but based off of clips I have heard users make, it seems pretty versatile, anywhere from blues to harder stuff, but not a one trick pony.

Ch1 Mode 3 flirts with the "nu" sound. Ch2 is looser and more responsive to playing dynamics. None of the sounds are fizzy or harsh. I think none of the Diezel amps are one tricky ponies and if you spend time with them amps you can get any sound from AC30 to Blackface Fender to hot rodded JCM800 to recto crunch to out of this world gain that only another Diezel could match.

That being said my absolute favorite vintage sound is a VH4 ch2 with the bright switch off and all the knobs at 12oclock. :worship:

Something like an Ecstasy just more aggressive would be a good definiition. It is not a Nu Metal amp, but it can go there if needed.

Did you read the reviews I wrote on the various Diezel amps...? I am happy to help you with any questions if you desire.

Your dealer has been dealing "other things" then Diezel amps if he gave you that advice! :gethim: Me thinks he needs a barbed-wire enema.
I play all types of music and any Diezel amp will cover all styles of music brilliantly.

I have an Einstein and it does classic rock and more vintage tones impeccably.

Actually, I don't remember seeing any reviews by you. Where are they? Link?

I think that 'confused' relates to the dealer.

Fantastic clean on Mode 1, crunch/twang on Mode 2, everything heavy on Mode 3, and Channel 2 isn't too bad for leads/fatter rhythm either.

I wouldn't call it 'vintage', but probably more traditional styled vs the more hi-fi VH4 and uber-fat Recto destroying Herbert.

Heck I get an older-school rock/stoner feel AND a more modern tech sound by varying what I play and how I pick. Load your guitar with decent passive pickups and you can make it do anything. It's really responsive to guitar volume and pick attack. Which is cool.

I don't know how to describe it other than the absolute finest sounding amp I've ever owned. I'm glad I spend the $$$ on it because quite frankly it ended my amp G.A.S. There are other amazing sounding amps out there, no question....but this one is just something very, very special to me.

I have almost every modern Boogie, a Triaxis Simul 395 rack rig, a Bogner Xtasy half stack and a Einstein with 2-212 diezel cabs and guess what I play thru every day? Classic rock, Floyd, Rush, Zeppelin etc....Ja, you are correct, the Einstein. It crushed the Mesa's (they all sound severely under biased and cold/tinny in comparison) and is just slightly less warm and midrangy than the Bogner which honestly is also pretty great, BUT all of the tones on the Einstein fit the bill for me. I don't feel it's a Neu Metal amp at all...too classic and warm for that (although with some EQ it'll do that as well) plus the harmonic content is so sweet and never shrill yet you never really find it lacking any high end either. Just gets better the louder you turn it up. I'v played thru almost every amp at one time or another in my 25 years of playing and the Einstein made me stop looking at other amps (other than another Diezel). Anyone want to buy a Stiletto, or a Roadster? or a Lonestar? I don't even turn them on any more! Buy the Einy, you'll love it.

Hehe.

Dude, I would not worry AT ALL. I have just played the Vh4/Herbert but they can get any good tones to be honnect. Buy it and then flex at him while playing your stuff, and see if it "doesnt fit your style".

You know, I used to walk in the guitar store and ask to try for guitar, and the guy is "for your style, i recommand a ESP with EMG pickups " "Pardon me, I haven't played a note yet, are you a medium or something? "

the Einstein is ANYTHING BUT nu-metal. sure it can pull the grunt of a Rivera to mimic 5FDP/Slipknot...if you drop your axe to C#...but for the rest of us, the Einstein does everything from the Eagles to SRV to NoDoubt to Boston/BadCo to VH/Ozzy to Offspring and Johnny Cash. How to I know? 'cause we just fuckin' finished rehearsing songs by all those boys (on my new 100W Einstein and Andersons), and with awesome results.

^^^ If that isn't on the official Diezel youtube site it needs to be, that WAS AWESOME!!!!

That guy is pretty funny. Wonder is he has ever combed his hair

Anyway, he's using H30 speakers. What do you guys prefer as far as speakers. I have a Bogner OS 2x12 with V30's, but i may swap out the speakers for H30's or 65's.
