I've got a brand new einstein 50W head and i'm looking to match it with some nice effects , but i was wondering if the Serial Fx loop support line level ( rack effects ) or instrument level ( pedals ) ? Or Can i put anything in it ( that would be so great ! ) ?

you can put anything in there and it'll prob. sound good. Diezels loops are tha' shit

AMAZING !!! First time i'll have so much choice for my effects without having to mind about line or instrument level !
Much better design than my OD100 head , which is only Line level ...

Hmmm...don't wanna piss on anyone's parade here, but I don't think just because it's a Diezel you can neglect correct leveling.

Here's what the manual says:
The individual channel volume controls determine the signal strength at the send jacks. The range is ... to +10dB. The
output impedance is 4.7 kΩ.

Pretty confusing, eh?
I assume it's instrument level, but I'd rather mail Peter directly or just bump the thread until somebody comes up with a useful answer.

First Diezel here , so yes pretty confusing , that's why i would like a precise answer ... i also saw that in the manual !

Peter ?

Hi!
Maybe you could be a bit more specific. What pedals would you like to use?
Not only rack units can operate at line levels, most BOSS like pedals should work well in the loop. Of course some effects are specificly build to be used infront of the amp, standard wha pedals for example, but then again why would you want to use such an effect in the loop?
About levels:
As far as I know the Einstein's channel volumes control the output of the serial send so you can go pretty low in level if you need to. The output impedance is not a big issue as most guitar pedals are designed with a high Z input in mind. (Well, maybe not the GMajor;-))
With the channel volume at reasonable levels you will get higher levels then you will get from your guitar for sure...

Hope that helps!
Best,
Stefan

yes the same with me ... couldn't play the OD100 with DD5 delay pedals, same problem with the Soldano Hot Rod series ...

I would like to use the Damage control Timeline in the Serial or Parallel loop of the Einstein , but would like to be sure before i order the Pedal !

Any definitive answer about this? is the loop line or instrument level? the manual says up to +10, but for what i'm reading, instrument level is -10 and line level is +4, and none of them matches that +10 level from the Einstein manual...so... confusing

Not sure of the answer to your question. But the channel masters should double as send level controls, so I suspect that even if the loop is line level, you can back off the channel masters and get it to work reasonably well with pedals?

It´s not confusing. The channel volumes are responsible for the send levels.

Just plug in your effect unit ;)

IF any pedal couldn't deal with the levels, I am pretty sure you would VERY clearly hear it since it would be clipping then, wouldn't it?
