Maybe this has been covered previously, but I can't find it in any threads...Just bought a newer Einstein, serial 003/307...I think maybe 4Q 2007 build...I have owned a few others before, but I can't remember if this was the case on those..
Master 1 seems to be a bit louder at the same setting as Master 2...Almost sounds a little different as well...For instance, if I had both Masters @ 9 o'clock, Master 1 sounds a little louder...Master 2 is either not as loud, or a little more saturated...I have killed my ears over 25+ years of playing hard and heavy, but I definitely hear a difference...I would appreciate anyone chiming in here with their experience...BTW, this amp is turning out to be a nice compliment to my more modern sounding Herbert...

Thanks,
Mark

Anybody? This really has me wondering...

Have a great weekend...

Mark

Yeah I have noticed the same thing, Master 2 definitely appears a little less loud, but a little more "gained out" if that makes any sense.

I'm new to this forum, and just got my Einstein a few days ago.
While checking it for two days/five hours each, to become familiar with it's sounds and settings, I also was encountering the same - phenomenum (?).

While Master 1 sounds very tight and precise, Master 2 is a bit "muddy" and less transparent.
Is this a problem, or a feature?
I would really like the two Masters sound equally, so you can get the best out of the channels/modes.

And of course, I really love the sound, I couldn't stop playing.

Would be nice, if someone comments on this thread

Thanks and cheers
Chris

the same here. i really like this feature, you can play around with it and vary your sounds

Yep, mine does it too. I've come to really like this, as I use it as basically another channel for just a slight boost. It's a bit brighter and more open sounding than master 1. (cuts through a band mix a bit better than master 1, too) Definitely allows more tonal options for different songs, without having to tweak settings during a set. Some songs, I do all my rhythms with master 2. Just depends on the need for the particular song. The only thing I ever tweak during a set, is the gain level. (depending on the song)

2 years with Einstein now, and I couldn't be happier. This amp provides everything I need in an amp, and the tone is huge and exceptional! IMO, it crushes every other amp I've played through to date.
In fact, I find it impossible to get a bad tone from this amp. It sounds great no matter where the knobs are set. It's just all about personal preference in dialing in "your" sound.

For me, the Einstein is an absolute "keeper".

Pots have tolerances some models +-20%. So if you point your knobs of the masters at the same setting, say 12 o'clock, one might read 500k and the other one 450 or maybe 550k. This could be the answer, at least in my oppinion. ;)
