How many pre amp tubes are suppose to be in an Einstein. ? When I picked mine up a few months back ( 2nd hand, third owner ) it came loaded with 6 pre amp tubes. All of them were/are under metal sheild retainers. Next to one of the last pre amp tubes, there was a hole in the chasis sized properly for a 7th pre amp tube. Wondered if a tube should be there, but the amp seemed to work flawlessly with out it. I just took it into a local shop to have the power tubes replaced and have the amp rebiased. The shop added the 7th pre amp tube. I found a pic on musictoyz web site of an einstien removed from it's headshell and it only had the 6 pre's under the retainers. You could see the hole for a 7th tube. What if anything is this 7th tube doing or gonna do to my amp ? Should it be removed ? Thanks Paul
