I have a customer bringing in an Einstein for repair tomorrow. He says it loses power, then dies about every 6-7 months and that a pre-amp tube is replaced and then it goes another few months and same thing happens. He doesn't know if it is the same tube that goes out each time. My thought is that this may make sense if it is a different tube each time since they weren't all replaced initially. If it is the same tube each time then there may be somthing stressing the tube. I will check voltages, grid leak resistors, and look for DC where it should not be, etc. It sure would be nice to get a schematic. Any chance that could happen?
