Hey guys, just got my Einstein yesterday and it absolutely blew me away. Easily the best amp I have ever played through period. Dialed up some good tones pretty quickly, and I actually got to crank it because everyone left my house! Anyway, gigs are coming up pretty soon so I was wondering how everyone sets up their Einstein for various musical styles, band situations etc.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I usually live on the first channel, mode 2. EQ according to the guitar, usually that means turning any of the treble, middle or bass controls down or up a bit from 12 o'clock position. The deep control is useful for giving single coil guitars a bit more thickness. In mode2 I keep gain between 12 and 1 o'clock, while in mode 3 I usually don't go above 12 o'clock. The second channel gain is IMO only useful when it's under 11 o'clock. Even gain almost all the way down is a good setting.

I am using a LP and a CS 356 through my Einstein combo.
I set the first channel with treble at 12-1 oclock, middle at 10-11 oclock, bass at 10-11 oclock, presence at 1-2 oclock, deep at 12 oclock for LP and at 10 oclock for CS 356, channel one gain at 1-2 oclock and mode II. Channel one master set to room level. I run the channel volume at about 12 oclock.

I then set channel two with similar settings but gain on channel two is set to get a violin-type tone, so it is run at about 10 oclock. Channel two master volume is set to act as a slight boost to overall channel one volumes and channel two volume when using channel one master volume.
I also have 12AT7's in V-1 and V-2 which reduces the gain a bit, thus allowing me to run my gain settings up a bit hotter without the gain sounding as brutal, but still allowing the amp to work a bit harder to sound more powerful.
Hope this helps.

I plug either an Ibanez RG 3120 (Tone Zone Bridge- PAF Pro Neck) or a RG 1527 (D Sonic 7 Bridge - Air Norton 7 Neck), so I usually have the Bass around 10-11 (The Tone Zone is very bassy). Medium and Treble around 1 o'clock. I never set the gain higher than 12 on channel 2, and I often have it around 11 on channel 1 (I use mode 2 most of the time). Volume at 12, master between 8:30 and 9 depending on how much I want the world to know how good my amp sounds :)
I also like to have the Deep around 13:00. Presence around 12

I find those settings to be nice overall settings, very versatile Rythm / Solo.
Although I like to tweak for recording...

Hope this helps, enjoy your amp!

Tried some of your suggestions today in band practice, liked what I'm hearing. Thanks for your replies, can't wait to play in front of some people with the new amp, which should be happening in a few days. This forum kicks ass.
