Hi all,
I have what I'm pretty sure is a bad pre-amp tube in my Einstein. When I plug my guitar into the input there's an intermittent static noise. When nothing's plugged in it's silent. It still sounds good & doesn't sound microphonic like a bad power tube & there's no gain loss like a bad V1 tube. Any ideas on which preamp tube might cause this, and could it still be the V1 tube even though the amp still sounds great with no gain loss?
BTW, I know it's not radio interference or a bad cable. I've already checked everything else. I plan on doing a full re-tube next week, however, I have a gig this weekend and would like to use the amp still.
Thanks,
-d
