Einstein-switching channel 1 modes via ground control?

Sup all, I'm very interested in purchasing an Einy within the year hopefully...I know the mod for switching the ch.1 modes has been discussed, but what I want to know is, with the mod can the modes be switched with a switcher such as a gcx/ground control, or only the included footswitch?

I have the mod but never got around to installing it. I think they can be switched with a TRS jack.

Has there ever been any discussion or word from Diezel about just making mode-switching via footswitch a standard feature of the Einstien? Seems like there's certainly enough desire for it. I'm seriously wanting to get a combo but will hold off if that's a forthcoming change/upgrade

I believe Peter has said numerous times that it won't be done. I think he's mentioned a possible revision where he removes the mode switch and offers another gain control or something?

I see. Well, that's a shame in my mind, but certainly not a deal breaker for me getting one. By the way, does the mod void the warranty?
