Einstein transformer hum

Hi guys!

I bought an Einstein 100W head some months ago and in many ways it is the best amp I've ever played! I'm really happy with it.

Just one thing bothers me a little, because I don't know, if it is completely normal.

When I switch it on I can hear low freq hum from the power transformer. I know that is normal to some degree but I also have a Peavey JSX combo at home and I can't hear anything from it when swithed on...
Sometimes I play at bedroom levels at night and the hum bothers me a little.
The noise I hear is not from the speaker, as I can hear it with a load box attached...
Same with your Einsteins?

Again, I'm very happy with it and just wanted to know, if everything is fine;-)

Best regards,
Andi

the same with mine, but i dont care, im not used to play it at bedroom level that often. its like putting a lion in a case. he would hum too ;)

Its fine, thats electro-mechanical hum and doesn't affect the sound at all. It has to put out so many ampêres that it hums a bit.

Thanks for the fast replies!!
One thing I noticed is that I can influence the hum radiated by the Einstein by touching the tranny, it gets louder;-) Funny, ain't it?
